(Nasdaq: WGRD) announced today that the RapidStream 11000 "Secured by Check Point" VPN/firewall appliance is now available worldwide. Designed to be an ideal solution for large data centers, service providers, Web hosting sites and high-end e-commerce sites, the RapidStream 11000 integrates Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP) Next Generation™ (NG) software and delivers 1.2 Gbps 3DES VPN-1® throughput, 2.0 Gbps FireWall-1® throughput, 40,000 IPSec tunnels and up to 200,000 sessions.

RapidStream offers an ASIC-based, high-performance family of "Secured by Check Point" VPN/firewall appliances designed to provide customers with a "no compromise" solution. Customers receive high-performance and the robust, industry-leading security software of Check Point. All RapidStream appliances have passed a rigorous testing process to be certified as "Secured by Check Point" for optimal operation, ease of use, and interoperability.

The RapidStream 11000 incorporates the RapidCore processor, a custom security ASIC, and leverages the Check Point SecureXL performance framework that enables hardware accelerators to execute security operations. The RapidCore architecture delivers breakthrough performance by routing network traffic through the RapidCore processor and completely bypassing the main CPU and system bus while still enforcing security policies. RapidCore processors perform parallel processing of VPN-1 and FireWall-1 functions, Network Address Translation (NAT), Denial of Service (DoS) attack protection, and IP Security (IPSec) policies. RapidStream has nine patents pending on its acceleration hardware and software for security systems.
