Mountain View, CA - November 19, 2002
- Resilience Corporation, the leading provider of Integrated
High Availability (IHA) security solutions, today announced it has
expanded upon its popular "Secured by Check Point" DX4000
appliance by introducing a complete line of VPN/Firewall appliances
to address the different performance and high availability requirements
of the enterprise - from remote offices to corporate data centers.
The DX4000 appliances come pre-installed with Check Point Software
Technologies Ltd. market-leading VPN-1®/FireWall-1® Next
Generation software and deliver leading price/performance in each
product class. In addition, Resilience offers customers unparalleled
investment protection by providing an end-to-end upgrade path to
meet the changing needs of their networks.
"Enterprises are looking for solutions offering the right
performance for their needs at the right price," said Aaron
Vance, industry analyst at Synergy Research Group. "The Resilience
DX4000 family provides enterprises with increased choice and flexibility
by offering high performing appliances at entry level prices, so
that customers pay only for the level of performance and availability
they need."
"We are pleased to see Resilience announce its new family
of 'Secured by Check Point' DX4000 appliances," said Asheem
Chandna, vice president of business development and product management
for Check Point Software Technologies. "The Resilience DX4000
family of appliances provides customers with additional options
to deploy industry-leading security with leading price/performance
and Integrated High Availability."
"One size does not fit all when it comes to security systems.
In addition to high performance and low cost, customers are demanding
a flexible security platform that can grow as their network grows,"
said Michael Maulick, chairman and CEO, Resilience Corporation.
"With this announcement, Resilience now offers 'Secured by
Check Point' appliances that scale all the way from enterprise remote
offices to corporate offices to data centers."
The Resilience DX4000 Product Family
The DX4000 family allows IT managers to choose from a range of performance
and Integrated High Availability levels to match their network needs.
As requirements change, customers can easily upgrade both performance
and availability without sacrificing their initial investment.
Choice of Performance Levels
Each series in the DX4000 family offers a choice of 4 different
performance levels, so network managers can choose the throughput
they need for the task at hand. Entry-level models of the DX4000
family start at robust throughput levels of 600 Mbps firewall and
200 Mbps VPN throughput. With an option for dual processors and
speeds of 1.5 Gbps firewall and 600 Mbps VPN throughput, the DX4000
family over-delivers on the capacity requirements of most networks.
Choice of Integrated High Availability Levels
The DX4200 Series - IHA-Ready
The DX42000 offers all the management features, speed, ports and
other benefits of the DX4000 family in a single IHA-ready module.
The DX4200 is an ideal choice for enterprises that need a robust
security solution at a very attractive price point. The DX4200 Series
comes standard with a single module in a dual module chassis that
can easily be upgraded to a dual model system to fully protect the
network with Integrated High Availability.
The DX4400 Series - IHA-Standby
The DX4400 Series provides a cost-effective entry-point for a high
availability solution, offering many of the benefits of a full IHA
solution. The DX4400 Series incorporates two integrated hardware
modules with no single point of failure. IHA-Standby capabilities
protect the network from both application and hardware failures
with operator-assisted "one click" failover. The DX4400
Series can be easily upgraded to full IHA.
The DX4600 Series - IHA
The DX4000 Series provides full Integrated High Availability for
VPNs or firewalls that absolutely cannot tolerate downtime. Full
IHA capabilities protect your network from application, operating
system and hardware failures, providing automatic failover and seamless
uptime for complete network security. The DX4600 delivers full state-synchronization,
and automatic failover with no session loss.
Integrated High Availability
The Resilience DX4000 architecture features Integrated High Availability
(IHA), eliminating the complexity normally associated with high
availability solutions, by incorporating two integrated hardware
modules in one appliance with no single point of failure. Each system
module contains a complete computing environment (CPU, memory, disk,
and I/O connections) and is able to function independently. If there
is a failure in one module, the second module ensures continuous
operation with no loss of data, state or processing capabilities.
Customers without an immediate need for high availability may purchase
a single module unit and upgrade easily and conveniently when their
requirements change.
Pricing and Availability
U.S. pricing for the Resilience DX4000 product family starts at
$5,995. The DX4200 series and the DX4600 series are available immediately.
The DX4400 series will be available in Q1, 2003.
