Intrusion
Detection System Achieves OPSEC Certification With The Industry's
Most Recognized Security Framework
Irvine,
CA - April 17, 2002 - Secos (www.secos.com),
dedicated to the development of effective, globally focused
technology, offering network, transaction, content, and system
security, today announced that it has achieved OPSEC® (Open
Platform for Security) certification for SecoShield NG,
from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP),
the worldwide leader in securing the Internet. Through this
certification, SecoShield NG now offers a more tightly integrated
network-based intrusion detection solution (NIDS) with Check
Point's VPN-1®/FireWall-1® Next Generation (NG) software,
providing customers with the flexibility and convenience of
single console operation.
Designed
by network security experts utilizing the most advanced technology
available, SecoShield NG provides a user-friendly, network-based
intrusion detection solution offering unmatched integration,
accuracy, performance and security.
SecoShield
NG utilizes multiple OPSEC interfaces that permit security administrators
to export the status and connectivity information to the Check
Point System Status Viewer from the Intrusion Detection System
(IDS), thus allowing for remote manager and sensor management.
The
integration also lets administrators access the centrally-defined
security policy stored in the Check Point Management Server
and define SecosShield NG policies within that policy, further
simplifying the overall management of the IDS infrastructure.
"Due
to SecoShield NG's design, administrators now can easily manage
their IDS remotely, allowing them to step away from on-site
security management and focus on improving other aspects of
their network's performance," stated Nick Hulse, vice president
and general manager of Secos. "This flexibility adds to the
already powerful Check Point NG security suite, and delivers
the peace-of-mind to administrators that their IDS solution
is the best, and easiest to use, in today's Internet security
industry."
"Customers
are demanding products that offer tight integration when building
end-to-end security solutions. We are delighted to see SecoShield
NG utilizing many of our OPSEC interfaces to build a highly
integrated network intrusion detection product that offers ease
of management and enhances overall security," stated Upesh Patel,
manager OPSEC Alliance for Check Point.
