ForeScout Technologies Broadens OPSEC Integration with Check Point Software

Patented Perimeter Security Technology Now Offers Enhanced OPSEC Certified Integration

SAN MATEO, Calif.- Oct. 9, 2003 - ForeScout Technologies, Inc. announced today that it has expanded its OPSEC(TM) (Open Platform for Security) certification for the newest release of its ActiveScout perimeter security solution, from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:CHKP - News), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet.

ActiveScout seamlessly integrates with Check Point's market-leading VPN-1®/FireWall-1® Next Generation solution, allowing customers to create a comprehensive perimeter defense for their network. ActiveScout establishes an additional layer of security that complements the enterprise firewall by blocking attackers (worms and hackers), offering a comprehensive range of protection against threats regardless of their attack method.

The enhanced integration of ActiveScout utilizes Check Point's Smart OPSEC Manager framework to enable accurate and automatic blocking capabilities with centralized event-logging, reporting, monitoring and management via Check Point's Security Management Architecture (SMART(TM)). Smart OPSEC Manager streamlines the configuration and installation process, and it also provides monitoring capabilities and automatic software distribution of OPSEC certified products within Check Point's SMART console, thus enabling customers to better manage their overall security environment.

"This new level of integration allows customers to complement their existing VPN-1/FireWall-1 deployment by accurately blocking new worms, attackers or other threats automatically, without increasing their operational costs," said Tim Riley, Vice President of Marketing, ForeScout Technologies. "Smart OPSEC Manager allows firewall administrators to easily deploy and manage ActiveScout from within the familiar Check Point SMART(TM) management console."

ActiveScout's accuracy greatly reduces traffic to firewalls, intrusion detection systems and other security products, making log and alert monitoring manageable so security professionals can focus on core business issues. It uses additional OPSEC interfaces with VPN-1/FireWall-1 to dynamically re-configure the security policy when new threats are identified.

"We are pleased that ForeScout continues to maintain and enhance its OPSEC Certification," said Upesh Patel, Director of Business Development, Check Point Software Technologies. "The additional integration with Smart OPSEC Manager will provide our customers richer management capabilities, allowing them to better manage their overall security environment."
