Informer Systems Limited (ISL) Achieves OPSEC Certification from Check Point Software
ISL's SentriNET v2.0 Integrates with Industry's Most Recognized Security FrameworkBromsgrove, Worcestershire, United Kingdom February 3, 2003 Informer Systems Limited (ISL) today announced that it has achieved OPSEC (Open Platform for Security) certification for its SentriNET v2.0 security product, from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet. Through OPSEC certification, SentriNET v2.0 seamlessly integrates with Check Point's market-leading VPN-1®/FireWall-1® Next Generation solution (or Internet security platform), providing customers with a leading biometric authentication solution for network and application log on. SentriNET v2.0 provides biometric access by requesting fingerprint authentication when a user attempts to log on, replacing traditional PIN (personal identification number) and written password methods. The system is fully compatible with Check Point solutions. SentriNET for VPN-1 SecuRemote/SecureClient allows for a secure biometric authentication to Firewall-1 with full integration with Microsoft's Active Directory Service (ADS) for the storage of biometric templates and network permissions. Templates can also be stored on a personal smart card or token to increase the level of security that may be required. "We are delighted to receive OPSEC certification for SentriNET v2.0," says Derek McDermott, Managing Director of ISL. "Users of Check Point security systems can deploy SentriNET v2.0 authentication safe in the knowledge that it has been thoroughly tested by OPSEC and passed as 100 per cent compatible with the software of both Check Point and other OPSEC partners." OPSEC 3 SentriNET utilizes existing Directory Services, Windows 2000 ADS. The system is simple to deploy (fingerprints are scanned electronically in just a few moments) and does not require a proprietary server. SentriNET supports a variety of devices from most major manufacturers. It also supports the storage of templates onto smart card or token devices and allows users to set up their own databases.
