Pingtel IP Voice Solutions Achieve Check Point Software OPSEC Certification

WOBURN, Mass., April 22, 2003 - Pingtel®, the leader in Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) IP voice solutions, today announced that it has achieved OPSEC™ (Open Platform for Security) certification from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), a worldwide leader in securing the Internet.

OPSEC certification ensures that the Pingtel SIPxchange™ IP PBX and Pingtel xpressa™ IP phone will seamlessly interoperate with Check Point's VPN-1®/FireWall-1® Next Generation software to provide secure SIP telephony. Extensive testing demonstrates that enterprises can deploy Pingtel IP voice solutions with Check Point's Internet security platform to provide SIP-based voice communications that securely traverse an organization's firewalls.

"We are pleased that Pingtel IP voice solutions have achieved OPSEC certification," said Upesh Patel, manager of the OPSEC Alliance for Check Point Software Technologies. "With Pingtel products passing rigorous testing to become recognized as OPSEC certified, enterprises can confidently combine Pingtel and Check Point solutions to deliver secure, high-quality SIP-based voice communications."

SIPxchange is a breakthrough in enterprise communications using industry standards and an open architecture to deliver more affordable, manageable, productive and secure voice communications than any other IP PBX or digital PBX. Based on several key standards, including SIP - the global standard for voice, video and data communications - Java, XML and VoiceXML, combined with off-the-shelf Linux technology, SIPxchange delivers the features, price and performance customers require in voice solutions without shackling enterprises to proprietary hardware, operating systems and protocols.

Pingtel xpressa is the VoIP (Voice over IP) industry's standard SIP phone by offering a thorough implementation of the SIP standard, superlative functionality, intuitive user interface and superb audio quality. The intelligent Pingtel xpressa phone provides a rich collection of productivity enhancing features and an open Java-enabled development platform that lets enterprise customers, service providers, system integrators and independent software vendors (ISVs) easily add unique features and applications.

"Check Point is the leader in both the worldwide firewall and VPN markets," said William J. Rich, president and chief executive officer, Pingtel. "Achieving OPSEC certification is a significant milestone because enterprise customers now have an effective solution for providing voice communications over existing packet networks without compromising network security."
