Cerberian Web Manager for Check Point VPN-1 Pro and Express Next Generation now available; solution provides cost-effective, low burden, advanced Internet filtering

SALT LAKE CITY-February 17, 2004-Cerberian, Inc. today announced that its revolutionary content filtering service, Cerberian Web Manager, has achieved OPSEC (Open Platform for Security) certification from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet. Through OPSEC certification, Cerberian Web Manager for Check Point VPN-1 seamlessly integrates with Check Point's market-leading VPN-1 Pro and Express Next Generation with Application Intelligence software.

The OPSEC certification of Cerberian Web Manager allows organizations using Check Point Internet security solutions to easily monitor and enforce Internet access policies, and enable administrators to easily install and manage Internet use in a cost-effective manner. The certified solution helps minimize IT overhead and virtually eliminate the added burdens that are common with other solutions. Cerberian's unique managed service approach offers a complete and accurate Internet filtering solution enabling organizations to manage, secure and protect their Internet investment, while ensuring network security, minimizing legal liability, improving productivity, and conserving costly Internet bandwidth within the organization.

"With Cerberian Web Manager for Check Point VPN-1, Check Point users have the option of running Cerberian's powerful filtering technology on the same device as their Check Point VPN-1 or on a dedicated UFP server," said Matt Mosman, chief executive officer of Cerberian. "This 'on-box' solution simplifies the installation process and ongoing management burden while saving time and money. The integrated solution combined with our managed service model offers organizations a much lower total cost of ownership while improving the management and control of Internet use unlike any other filtering product available."

"Web access management tools are critical security solutions that greatly enhance the security of organizations by managing bandwidth, controlling access to potentially threatening Web sites and ensuring overall productivity of Web usage," said Upesh Patel, director of business development for Check Point Software. "OPSEC certification for the Cerberian Web Manager will provide our joint customers with a comprehensive Web filtering solution that will tightly integrate with existing Check Point SMART management architecture to simplify installation and ongoing administration."

"We have added this new product offering to service customers who are looking for an alternative to traditional content filtering solutions and currently do not have an outlet for such services," added Mosman. "We will continue to integrate Cerberian Web Manager with a variety of gateway technologies, service solutions, and security software applications providing organizations the freedom to choose how they prefer to deploy and manage their Internet security."

Unlike other filtering solutions, Cerberian's patent pending Dynamic Real-Time Rating (DRTR) and Dynamic Background Rating (DBR) technologies analyze all requested Web pages in real-time, feeding the ratings database with constant updates to ensure that Cerberian Web Manager has the most relevant ratings database available, resulting in effective coverage of more than 1 billion Web pages. The result is a safer, better controlled and more productive Internet experience for businesses, government agencies, schools and libraries.

Cerberian Web Manager for Check Point VPN-1 on the Next Generation platform is available for Linux, Solaris, and Windows 2000.
