Tempe, AZ —

Corrent Corporation, a leading supplier of purpose-built security appliances, today announced plans to upgrade its entire firewall/VPN appliance family to support VPN-1® UTM and VPN-1® Power, the next generation security product lines from Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP). Corrent appliance customers will be able to choose both highly integrated UTM models that combine more security functions at a lower price and accelerated models that meet the most demanding performance requirements of large enterprise networks without compromising security.

Check Point VPN-1 UTM and VPN-1 Power solutions advance an already compelling idea --Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliances that combine multiple security functions into a single device. This technology integration provides improved protection against blended threats, while simplifying the task of configuring and managing the appliance. While UTM appliances have been primarily targeted at small to mid-sized businesses with small IT staffs, unified threat management is an equally important goal for larger enterprises with multiple gateways.

Combined with Corrent technology and appliances, Check Point's new UTM security offering enables the benefits of unified management and control of multiple security functions to be scaled to any size network, allowing all types of organizations to maintain a consistent set of policies and respond quickly to new threats with a single point of control.  For customers who also require world-class high performance, Corrent ASIC accelerated appliances with Check Point VPN-1 Power software add enhanced hardware protection features, unique to Corrent, such as DDoS protection. Corrent accelerated appliances offer multi-gigabit throughput for real world network traffic at high connection rates and low latency.

"Keeping networks secure requires both solid technology and comprehensive management," says Richard Takahashi, Corrent President and CEO. "Enterprises not only need to defend against more frequent and complex attacks, but the growth in the number of wireless and other Internet connected devices means that they also have more access points to protect. That's why Check Point's infrastructure-wide approach to security management is so important. Check Point software allows our customers to take full advantage of UTM integration and our hardware acceleration, while offering the tools needed to coordinate defenses company-wide."

"We are pleased to be partnering with an innovative hardware vendor such as Corrent to provide top notch UTM appliances to customers of all sizes," said Ken Fitzpatrick, CMO of Check Point Software Technologies. "Customer need the ability to stay protected against the latest threats without the burden of installing multiple security systems. The perfect combination of hardware and software such as Check Point and Corrent make it easy for businesses to stay up and running and their networks protected."
