Pointsec signs contract with Finnish logistics company
STOCKHOLM, Sweden – June 7, 2005
Pointsec®, the global leader and de facto standard for enterprise security software for desktop PCs, laptops, PDAs and smartphones, has signed a contract with a Finnish logistics company, to deliver device encryption solutions, including management and related services, to offer data protection for the company's mobile users.
The Finnish logistics company is facing an increasing share of mobile terminals in its computer inventory. With the solutions purchased now, the company wants to protect all confidential information stored in devices that are easily lost or stolen, including laptops and removable media, such as USB drives.
Pointsec has supplied the customer with Pointsec for PC and Pointsec Media Encryption licenses. Pointsec is also responsible for the deployment project, including specifications, product installation and piloting, as well as training the main user and support personnel. The encryption solutions are managed centrally using Pointsec MI (Management Infrastructure) software integrated in the Microsoft Active Directory. The products have been delivered and installed in April, and the pilot phase is currently in progress.
