Pointsec to provide mobile technology security to Australian Defence Department
Sydney, Australia – October 25, 2006 - Pointsec, the global leader and de facto standard for security software for desktop PCs, laptops, PDAs and smartphones, today announced it has signed a End User Licence Agreement (ELUA) with the Australian Defence Department to provide endpoint security technology for its laptops.
After thorough evaluation and testing, Pointsec was selected by the Defence Department over a number of other vendors. This was due to Pointsec being the only IT security vendor with a mobile data protection solution certified to Common Criteria EAL4, and approved by Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) for use in Australian and New Zealand government systems.
"Pointsec is proud to be selected by the Department of Defence in Australia to meet the challenges presented by the organisation's growing number of mobile workers," said Sandeep Joshi, Managing Director, Pointsec Mobile Technologies. "This contract is further evidence that Pointsec's leadership and commitment to certification are meeting and exceeding security requirements for organisations around the world."
Pointsec has become the most widely deployed data protection solution because it offers more and higher industry certifications than any competitive solution, innovative centralised management and the widest coverage of mobile platforms available, including laptop and desktop PCs, PDAs, smartphones, and removable media.
