The Leader in Endpoint Security
Check Point is one of the most trusted brands in Internet security. Our innovative security technology protects 100% of the Fortune 100 and is proven on more than 30 million PCs. The experience and knowledge gleaned from this scrutiny are at the core of all our products, making them the most reliable and trustworthy products in the industry.
Check Point pioneered a new level of functionality in personal firewalls and invented the category of endpoint security - a category that has been identified as one of the most critical areas for enterprise security. And we continue to innovate - we have consistently been first to market with next generation technologies that have redefined the endpoint security category. Recognizing the importance of assured policy enforcement on the endpoint PC, we developed our exclusive Cooperative Enforcementâ„¢ technology to integrate with existing gateways and security technologies to restrict network access to only security compliant PCs.
We have been recognized for these efforts. The Gartner Group has hailed us as a leader in the firewall software market for the past four consecutive years, and we won Computerworld's Innovative Technology award in 2003 for the real-world advantages earned by customers using Integrity.
Endpoint Technology Innovations Timeline
1999
- Established endpoint security category with release of first personal firewall with an end user-oriented GUI
- Developed first stateful personal firewall with application network access privileges chosen by end user
- Introduced Cooperative Enforcement technology to ensure personal firewall security was in effect before network access was allowed by a gateway
2000
- Introduced ability to block responses to unsolicited inbound packets, thereby avoiding detection by probes and port scans
2001
- First product to deny network access to non-compliant PCs
2002
- Introduced first product to provide Cooperative Enforcement of up-to-date antivirus on endpoints via integration with leading VPN gateways
- Patented "smart checksum" technology that generates a unique identifier for applications whose standard MD5 checksum may vary, depending on the operating system they are installed on
- Introduced first product to enable administrator-controlled security policy when the endpoint is connected to the enterprise network and end user-controlled policy when the endpoint is disconnected from the enterprise
- Shipped first product with a collection of validated application checksums that prevent an administrator from granting network access permissions to malware masquerading as a trusted program 2003
- Launched first product to secure use of the public instant messaging services via protocol awareness, overcoming limitations of port and client-based controls
2004
- Introduced first online service to make automatic application network access control decisions without requiring end user interaction
