The VPN-1 Power Multi-core Difference

VPN-1 Power Multi-core enables organizations to gain a higher level of application security than they have before, matched with a higher level of performance. Leveraging the patent-pending CoreXL multi-core load balancing technologies, VPN-1 Power Multi-core ensures that advanced multi-core processors are used in the most efficient way. Figure 1 shows the performance boost provided by the technologies in VPN-1 Power Multi-core. Tested with a blend of traffic, similar to that found on the Internet, VPN-1 Power Multi-core more than doubles the application security performance when compared to VPN-1 Power with the multi-core enhancement. Each was tested using 3 profiles:

Total Security: In this profile, all SmartDefense and Web Intelligence settings are activated.

Strict Security Profile: In this profile, approximately 70% of SmartDefense and Web Intelligence settings are activated. This simulates protection for a segment with sensitive information or exposed servers.

Perimeter Profile: In this profile, approximately 57% of SmartDefense and Web Intelligence settings are activated, simulating what one might activate on the perimeter when little sensitive information or resources are located in an exposed manner behind the gateway.
