Set the Agenda: Forums on Emerging IT Security Risks

A series of forums for identifying and assessing emerging and future IT security risks will be held throughout Europe in 2008 by the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA). The agency invites interested parties to apply to participate in the forums [DOC] to steer the discussion as to which risks need the most attention and give input on how best to deal with them.

ENISA has already conducted an initial study on a method for identifying and assessing emerging and future risks. In 2008, the agency plans to put this work into practice by means of a comprehensive framework for identifying and assessing emerging and future risks.

Because this field is so new and to highlight the importance of leading experts interacting and cooperating, ENISA has established these stakeholder forums, consisting of partners and experts from industry, European Union organizations, and member states. The main task of the forums will be to steer the assessment and discussion on emerging and future risks. The forums will follow through all activities, validate previous results, and provide advice and recommendations to ENISA regarding these activities.
