Internet Users Overconfident About Avoiding Online Fraud

A recent survey of Internet users found that almost 90 percent of them felt confident about their ability to tell the difference between legitimate business email and fraudulent spam. However, when they were tested, more than 60 percent of users could not discern between real and fake messages. Also, more than 80 percent of users surveyed said that they are at least partially responsible for staying safe online by taking steps such as installing security software.*
