Backing Up the Appliance Configuration to a USB Flash Drive

The USB flash drive must have at least 64MB of free space.

Note: Some USB flash drives may not be supported by the appliance.

To backup the appliance configuration to a USB flash drive

  1. Connect a USB flash drive to one of your UTM-1 appliance's USB ports.

    For information on locating the USB ports, see Introduction.

  2. Click Setup in the main menu, and click the Tools tab.

    The Tools page appears.

  3. Click Backup/Restore.

    The Backup/Restore Wizard opens displaying the Step 1: Select Action dialog box.

  4. Click Backup this gateway to a storage device.
  5. Click Next.

    The UTM-1 appliance creates the folder <MACAddress> on the USB flash drive, where <MACAddress> is the appliance's MAC address, and writes the following files to this folder:

    The Step 2: Backup Complete screen appears.

  6. Click Finish.

    You can now restore the configuration from the USB flash drive as needed. See Restoring the Appliance Configuration from a USB Flash Drive.
