  • Who is Vulnerable? OpenSSL Project OpenSSL 1.0.1 prior to 1.0.1g
    OpenSSL Project OpenSSL 1.0.2 prior to 1.0.2-beta2
    Vulnerability Description An information disclosure vulnerability exists in OpenSSL. The vulnerability is due to an error when handling TLS/DTLS heartbeat packets. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to disclose memory contents of a connected client or server.

    Protection Overview

    This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.

    In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

    Security Gateway R75 and above / R71 / R70

    1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the OpenSSL TLS DTLS Overly-long Heartbeat Response Information Disclosure protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
    2. Install policy on all modules.
