Who is Vulnerable? Oracle MySQL 5.5.28 and prior
Vulnerability Description A stack buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in MySQL database server.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to an error while parsing certain arguments within GRANT requests. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted GRANT request to the target. Successful exploitation could result in execution of arbitrary code within the security context of the MySQL service.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Oracle MySQL GRANT Command Stack Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
