Who is Vulnerable? MIT Kerberos prior to krb5-1.9.1
Vulnerability Description A denial of service vulnerability has been reported in the MIT Kerberos KDC server.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to a NULL pointer dereference error in a certain function while handling incoming requests. A remote attacker may exploit this vulnerability by sending a malformed request to a target server. Successful exploitation could cause the KDC server to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block the transferring of malformed requests to the server.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the MIT Kerberos KDC LDAP Back Null Pointer Dereference Denial of Service protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
2. Install policy on all modules.
