    Vulnerability Description A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in the Microsoft .NET Framework.
    Update/Patch AvaliableApply patches from: MS12-038
    Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to the improper execution of a function pointer by .NET Framework. A remote attacker could trigger this vulnerability by enticing an unsuspecting victim to open a specially crafted web page that contains a specially crafted XBAP. Successful exploitation will allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on an affected system, in the security context of the logged on user.

    Protection Overview

    This protection will detect and block attempts to open a specially crafted web page.

    In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

    Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

    1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Microsoft .NET Framework Function Pointer Remote Code Execution (MS12-038) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
    2. Install policy on all modules.
