Who is Vulnerable? CA Total Defense Suite r12 prior to r12 SE2
Vulnerability Description An information disclosure vulnerability has been reported in CA Total Defense Suite.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to insufficient access control when handling requests to the getDBConfigSettings web method. A remote attacker may exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted SOAP xml to the target. Successful exploitation will allow an attacker to obtain the server's database credentials. The attacker may then use the credentials to authenticate to the server and execute arbitrary code under the context of the database administrator.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the CA Total Defense Suite getDBConfigSettings Information Disclosure protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
