Who is Vulnerable? Users of Cyberoam UTM appliances
Vulnerability Description A certificate handling flaw has been reported in Cyberoam's deep packet inspection (DPI) devices.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is caused due to the Cyberoam DPI devices sharing the same Certificate Authority (CA) certificate. A remote attacker could leverage this flaw to intercept SSL traffic from any Cyberoam device user, using any other Cyberoam DPI device. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to perform man-in-the-middle attacks.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block the default Cyberoam CA certificate.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Cyberoam Unified Threat Management CA Certificate SSL Spoofing protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
