Who is Vulnerable? Apache Software Foundation HTTP Server 2.2.21 and prior
Vulnerability Description A security bypass vulnerability has been reported in Apache HTTP Server.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to a design flaw in the Apache reverse proxy server when configured in a specific manner. A remote attacker may exploit this vulnerability by sending a malformed HTTP request to the vulnerable Apache server. A successful attack can result in the exposure of internal servers and their resources to unauthorized outside users.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block malicious HTTP requests sent to the server.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Apache HTTPD mod_proxy Security Bypass protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
