Who is Vulnerable? Oracle JSE (Java Standard Edition) version 1.7.0_06-b24 and previous versions.
Vulnerability Description A remote code execution vulnerability has been discovered in Oracle Java 7.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to an error in the com.sun.beans.finder.ClassFinder class. A remote attacker can exploit this issue via a specially crafted Java applet. Successful exploitation would allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block the specially crafted Java applet.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Java 7 Applet RCE Gondvv protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
