    Vulnerability Description A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft Word.
    Update/Patch AvaliableApply patches from: MS13-072
    Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is caused when Microsoft Word does not properly handle objects in memory while parsing specially crafted Office files. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by enticing a user to open a specially crafted document with an affected version of Microsoft Word. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to take complete control of the target system.

    This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.

    In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

    Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

    1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Microsoft Word Memory Corruption (MS13-072: CVE-2013-3854) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
    2. Install policy on all modules.
