Who is Vulnerable? PHP Servers 5.4.2 and prior.
Vulnerability Description A buffer overflow was reported in the apache_request_headers() function in PHP. The vulnerability is due to the insecure handling of the HTTP headers. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted HTTP request to the target server. Successful exploitation may allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system

Protection Overview

The protection will detect and block specially crafted HTTP requests.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the PHP apache_request_headers Function Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
