Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description A use-after-free vulnerability has been reported in Apple Safari. The vulnerability is due to an error in Apple Safari while handling the termination and subsequent referencing between child and parent windows. A remote attacker could trigger this vulnerability by enticing a vulnerable target to access a specially crafted HTML document. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the affected system.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R70 / R71 / R75 and above

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Apple Safari Parent.Close Use After Free - Ver2 protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
