|Vulnerability Description||JPEG is a very popular image file format. Specially crafted JPEG files may be used to create a DoS condition and in some cases, arbitrary code execution.|
This protection will block malformed formatted JPEG files on all services with Protocol Type 'HTTP'. Enabling "Perform strict enforcement" enables JPEG file detection based on its content. The detect mode makes it possible to track unauthorized traffic without blocking it.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update.For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
