Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description Trend Micro ServerProtect is prone to multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities. Trend Micro ServerProtect is a centrally managed virus protection console for enterprise-class servers. A remote attacker may exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code on a vulnerable system via a specially crafted RPC request.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block malformed RPC requests sent to Trend Micro ServerProtect over TCP port 5168 and 3628.The EarthAgent and the RPCFN_CopyAUSrc protections will be enforced on port 3628.The detect mode makes it possible to track unauthorized traffic without blocking it.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75 / R71 / R70 / R65

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Trend Micro ServerProtect RPC Multiple Buffer Overflows protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:
