|Vulnerability Description||Active Directory provides central authentication and authorization services for Windows-based systems. Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) is a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) directory service that runs as a user service.A denial of service vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft Active Directory. Successful exploitation of this issue could create a denial of service condition, causing the system to become non-responsive.The vulnerability is due to an error in the LDAP service that fails to sufficiently validate specially crafted LDAP requests. A remote attacker may trigger this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted LDAP packet to the ADAM or an Active Directory server.|
This protection will detect and block malformed LDAP requests.
