Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description Mozilla Firefox and Seamonkey are very popular open source web browsers from Mozilla Foundation, based on the Mozilla Suite code base. The browser is an application designed for tasks related to web browsing, such as displaying HTML pages, downloading files, rendering different media, and so on. The application implements many web standards, including JavaScript and Java applets. There exists a memory corruption vulnerability in Mozilla Foundation's family of browser products. The vulnerability is due to an error when processing certain malformed or specially crafted JavaScript code. In an attack case where code injection is not successful, the affected application will terminate abnormally. In a more sophisticated attack where code injection results is successful, the behavior of the target is entirely dependent on the intended function of the injected code. The code in such a case would execute within the security context of the current user.
