Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description XSLT is an XML language to define transformation for XML. XSLT is designed for use as part of XSL, which is a stylesheet language for XML. In addition to XSLT, XSL includes an XML vocabulary for specifying formatting. There exists a heap based buffer overflow vulnerability in RC4 libxslt library
extension. This vulnerability can be exploited using a crafted stylesheet leading to a heap-based buffer overflow, which could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code with privileges of the application using the libxslt library to perform XSL transformations. In an attack case where code injection is successful, the behaviour of the target is entirely dependent on the intended function of the injected code. The code in such a case would execute within the security context of the current user. In the case of an unsuccessful code execution attack, the affected application may terminate abnormally.
