Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description LANDesk Management Suite automates systems and security management tasks for desktops, servers, and mobile devices. Each LANDesk management domain consists of a core server and multiple devices (systems) that are managed by the core server. LANDesk Management Suite installation comes with a service named Intel QIP service. There exists a memory corruption vulnerability in LANDesk QIP service. The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation when processing specially crafted heal requests. In case of a successful exploitation, a remote unauthenticated attacker can inject and execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the affected service, normally System. The behaviour of the target will depend on the injected code. In the case of an unsuccessful code execution attack, the service will be terminated due to memory corruption, causing Denial of Service.
