Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in the way that Microsoft Internet Explorer accesses an object that has not been correctly initialized or has been deleted. Microsoft Internet Explorer attempts to access an object that has not been initialized or has been deleted, it may corrupt memory in such a way that an attacker could execute arbitrary code in the context of the logged-on user. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could gain the same user rights as the logged-on user.

Protection Overview

This protection detects and prevent access to such specially crafted Web pages.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75 / R71 / R70 / R65

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Internet Explorer DOM Modification Remote Code Execution (MS11-050) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
