Who is Vulnerable?	HP Data Protector Express (aka DPX) 5.0.00 before build 59287 HP Data Protector Express 6.0.00 before build 11974
Vulnerability Description	A stack buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in HP Data Protector 5. The vulnerability is due to insecure handling of file names when creating new folders. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a malicious request to the vulnerable server. A successful attack may result in code execution.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block malformed HTTP requests sent to the vulnerable service.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the HP Data Protector Create New Folder Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
Install policy on all modules.
