Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description An unauthorized file upload vulnerability has been reported in Avaya IP Office Customer Call Reporter. The vulnerability is due to insufficient restriction of content uploaded to the server by the ImageUpload.ashx page. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by uploading a file to a server running the vulnerable application. Successful exploitation could result in the execution of arbitrary code in the security context of the web server.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block the transferring of malicious data to the target server.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Avaya IP Office CCR ImageUpload.ashx Unrestricted File Upload protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:

Attack Name:  Content Protection Violation.
