Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description Microsoft Word is a popular word processing software. A remote code execution vulnerability has been identified in Microsoft Word. The vulnerability is due to an error in Microsoft Word that fails to properly handle Word files. A remote attacker could trigger this flaw by convincing a victim to open a specially crafted Word file that includes a malformed record value. Successful exploitation of this issue may corrupt system memory allowing execution of arbitrary code on a vulnerable system.

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Microsoft Word Crafted Sprm Structure Stack Memory Corruption (MS08-072) - Ver2 protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
