Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description The InterNetNews package (INN) is a complete Usenet system. It includes innd, an NNTP server, and nnrpd, a newsreading server. A vulnerability exists in the NNTP server component of InterNetNews (INN), which can be exploited to compromise a vulnerable system. The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error during the handling of control messages. This can result in a buffer overflow when filing control messages into per-type newsgroups.

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the InterNetNews Control Message Handling Buffer Overflow - Ver2 protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
