Who is Vulnerable? Netgear ProSAFE NMS300 prior to 1.7.0.20
Vulnerability Description An arbitrary file upload vulnerability exists in Netgear ProSafe NMS300. The vulnerability is due to inadequate access control and input validation error when accepting user uploaded files to fileUpload.do control. A remote unauthenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted HTTP requests to the target server. Successful exploitation would allow execution of arbitrary code under the security context of SYSTEM.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R81 / R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Netgear ProSAFE NMS300 fileUpload.do Arbitrary File Upload protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:
