Who is Vulnerable? Trend Micro Control Manager 6.0 prior to SP3 Patch Hotfix 3328
Vulnerability Description An information disclosure vulnerability has been reported in Trend Micro Control Manager. The vulnerability is due to lack of validation of the 'url' parameter in the request for task_control.php. An unauthenticated remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted HTTP or HTTPS request to the target server. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow attacker to disclose information from arbitrary files in the target system.

This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Trend Micro Control Manager task_controller Information Disclosure protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:
