Who is Vulnerable? Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance 6.5 prior to 6.5 CP 1746
Vulnerability Description A command injection vulnerability has been reported in Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Virtual Appliance (IWSVA). The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of the HTTP request parameters when processing requests to the PacFileManagement servlet. A remote, authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a maliciously crafted HTTP request to the target server. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to remote command execution in the context of root.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Trend Micro IWSVA PacFileManagement delete_pac_files Command Injection protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
