|Who is Vulnerable?||DNS servers|
|Vulnerability Description||Remote attackers may rapidly send a large number of DNS requests to the server within a short period of time. Successful exploitation may cause the server to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition.|
The protection detects DNS requests sent to the server over a short period of time.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update.For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
This protection's log will contain the following information:
Attack Name: DNS Enforcement Violation.
Attack Information: DNS Servers Request Flooding Denial of Service
