Who is Vulnerable? Cisco Systems Webex Meetings Desktop App prior to 33.6.0
Cisco Systems Webex Productivity Tools 32.6.0 and later prior to 33.0.5
Vulnerability Description A command injection vulnerability exists in Cisco Webex Meetings Desktop App. A remote authenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability by invoking the update service command with a crafted argument. Successful exploitation results execution of arbitrary code in the security context of the SYSTEM.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Cisco Webex Meetings Desktop App Update Service Command Injection (CVE-2018-15442) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
