Clalit Health Services and Check Point Announce Strategic Partnership to Secure AI Adoption Across Healthcare Environments
The companies will jointly develop a dedicated AI Gateway and deploy Check Point security solutions across AI Security, Exposure Management, and Workspace protection at Clalit's headquarters, hospitals, and clinics Cyberattacks on healthcare have risen more than 30% in two years, with organizations facing an average of 2,268 attacks per week
Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), a pioneer and global leader in cyber security solutions, and Clalit Health Services today announced a strategic partnership to secure AI adoption across Clalit’s medical data, digital assets, and critical infrastructure. The two organizations will jointly develop a dedicated AI Gateway for Clalit and deploy Check Point security solutions to support the safe, scalable expansion of AI models, applications, and agents across the organization.
Clalit, one of the largest healthcare organizations in the world, serves more than 5 million members. The partnership will help Clalit accelerate its use of AI, from embedding it in everyday workflows and shortening response times to enabling diagnostic and research tools powered by AI agents operating within those workflows. Check Point AI Security will give Clalit real-time visibility and control over AI usage and AI agents across the organization.
For Clalit’s patients, secure AI adoption can mean faster, more efficient, and more personalized care, along with new tools that improve quality of care without compromising privacy or security. The deployment spans Clalit’s headquarters, hospitals, and clinics, and will inform how Check Point helps healthcare organizations adopt AI securely at scale.
The collaboration focuses on four areas:
- Securing workforce AI use: Check Point Workforce AI will secure how employees and medical teams use AI tools in their daily work. It will help prevent sensitive medical data from being exposed to external AI models and services, enforce organizational AI usage policies, and detect or block risky actions and data transfers.
- A unified AI Gateway for healthcare: Check Point and Clalit development teams will jointly build a dedicated control and security layer between users, applications, and AI models. The AI Gateway is expected to allow Clalit to manage data traffic, apply unified usage policies, and enforce healthcare security and regulatory requirements from one central control layer.
- Continuous exposure and cyber risk reduction: Check Point Exposure Management will help Clalit continuously identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities and security gaps. It combines attack surface visibility, business context, and threat intelligence so security teams can focus on the exposures that pose the greatest operational risk.
- Protecting the digital workspace: Check Point Workspace will secure the channels employees and physicians use every day, including email, browsers, cloud applications, and endpoints. It protects against phishing, account takeover, malicious files, browser-based threats, and data leakage, while maintaining secure, uninterrupted access to critical systems and patient information.
The announcement comes as healthcare faces an intensifying threat landscape. According to CPR, Check Point’s research arm, cyberattacks against the healthcare sector have increased by more than 30% over the past two years amid geopolitical tensions and accelerating AI adoption. Healthcare is now the third most attacked sector, with organizations facing an average of 2,268 cyberattacks per week.
“AI opens up possibilities that did not exist until today to improve medicine, diagnosis and patient service. But realizing this opportunity depends on one basic thing: security and trust,” said Prof. Eytan Wirtheim, CEO of Clalit Health Services. “When we bring AI deeper into the medical world, we must ensure our patients’ medical data is protected at the highest level. Our 5 million insured members need to know they can sleep soundly even when the technology around them is changing rapidly. For us, information security is not a limitation on innovation. It is the condition that allows us to move forward faster and responsibly.”
“AI is creating significant opportunities for healthcare organizations to improve quality of care, patient experience and operational efficiency,” said Adam Ely, General Manager, AI Security at Check Point Software Technologies. “Healthcare is one of the most complex and sensitive environments there is, and it requires a broad security framework tailored to each organization’s needs. This reflects Check Point’s strategy: cybersecurity is essential business infrastructure that lets organizations adopt advanced technologies with confidence.”
“Three years of war, which included a significant rise in cyberattacks and cyberterrorism attempts against entities in Israel, made it clear to us that this threat does not belong only to a time of emergency. It is here to stay,” said Avi Attia, Chief Information, Technology and Cyber Security Officer at Clalit “We decided to move from dealing with threats in wartime to building long-term defense infrastructure together with Check Point. A healthcare system of Clalit’s scale cannot settle for reacting to the next threat; it needs to prepare for it in advance. This partnership will build a permanent capability to protect our systems and medical data while we continue to move forward rapidly with AI and new technologies. The test for us is not only how fast new technology can be introduced into the healthcare system, but whether it can be done in a way that teams and patients can trust.”
