Quantum SD-WAN Jumpstart Program

The Quantum SD-WAN Jumpstart service is meant to assist with designing, deploying, validating, and

supporting your “SD-WAN Go-Live” in a Data Center and two branches. Quantum SD-WAN is deployed

at the branch level and provides comprehensive prevention against zero-day, phishing, and ransomware

attacks while optimizing routing for users and over 10,000 applications.

Our Professional Services consultant will provide you with direct assistance to ensure successful

implementation. The scope of the service is delivered via a six-phase methodology that includes

designing and planning, preparations for pre and post cut-over activities, knowledge transfer, and

documentation.

Jumpstart Program

Scope of Services Designing and Planning The phase involves mapping all gateway locations and ensuring license and version validity (i.e. APPI, URLF, and VPN). It includes confirming Management Server Internet connectivity (sk83520) and equipping perimeter gateways with SD- WAN hardware and compatible software. WAN links must be configured with Public IP / NAT IP to support SD-WAN operations. It reviews topology information, including interface details and next hop IPs. Configurations of VPNs between the necessary SD-WAN network locations and all SD-WAN devices will be managed by the Management Server.

Preparations prior to Cut-over The process involves creating an account in the Check Point Infinity Portal within the chosen geographic region and connecting the Management Server to the portal to enable configuration sharing for object synchronization. This ensures that the necessary assets are synced to the Infinity Portal under the Assets section. It includes drafting Internet steering, overlay, hosted-service rules, and overlay probing rules in the SD-WAN rule base. Includes upgrading Jumbo Hotfix Installation JFH installation in the involved Management Server and appliances to enable support for the SD-WAN operations.

Production Cut-over Out-of-office hours assistance will be provided for cut-over and go-live processes. Onboard SD-WAN appliances to the SD-WAN policy by installing the nano agent and enforcing the policy on gateways, verifying that they are correctly applied. Monitor metrics and link selection parameters in the gateways, including VPN interface statistics and SD-WAN VPN overlay metrics. Troubleshoot and fine-tune as necessary to optimize performance.

Post Cut-over Monitoring and Support Monitor the SD-WAN setup, focusing on Internet steering and VPN overlay operations. Perform optimizations in the SD- WAN rule base, adjusting thresholds to improve performance.

Knowledge Transfer Management setup, installation and maintenance to ensure ongoing functionality and performance of the SD-WAN infrastructure.

Documentation An elaborate questionnaire will be provided to confirm Internet, overlay requirements, and the proposed design. A detailed method of procedure will document the entire installation process, including commands and configuration steps. A sign-off checklist will ensure that the installation follows Check Point best practices.

Out of Scope The deployment is limited to onboarding one data center and two branches to SD-WAN. Two days of post cut-over monitoring support will be provided, valid for seven working days from the cut-over date. Any major version upgrades to security gateways or Management Servers is considered out of scope, whereas the required JHF installation to enable SD-WAN capabilities in gateway are covered in the scope. Perimeter SD-WAN gateway configuration, and new VPN configurations between site offices are outside the project scope.
