SofaWare Technologies Internet Security Management Platform Integrates with Portal Software Infranet
Enables Service Providers to Seamlessly and Cost-effectively Deploy SofaWare's Security Services Delivery Architecture
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., October. 1, 2001 - SofaWare Technologies, a Check Point Software Technologies (Nasdaq:CHKP) company, today announced the integration of SofaWare's Safe@Home Security Management Platform (SMP) with Infranet, the industry-leading customer management and billing platform from Portal Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:PRSF). This tight integration enables multiple service operators (MSOs) and Internet service providers (ISPs) to easily and efficiently integrate SofaWare's Safe@Home valued-added Internet security service delivery platform into their current Portal-based billing and provisioning systems.
"Reducing the time and cost to deploy, provision and bill for new services plays a significant role in every MSO and ISPs success," said Sheila Aharoni, vice president of business development, SofaWare Technologies. "With the integration of Safe@Home and Infranet, MSOs and ISPs can begin almost immediately to offer essential home and home office Internet security to their customers."
"Broadband Internet security is an important issue that service providers are addressing. We have chosen to integrate Infranet with SofaWare because they have demonstrated success in delivering a market leading solution that will help our joint customers quickly and efficiently deliver security solutions to consumers," said John Janetos, director strategic alliances at Portal.
Safe@Home's SMP is specifically designed to manage Safe@Home, SofaWare's fully integrated suite of Internet security software based on market-leading Check Point FireWall-1 technology from Check Point Software, the worldwide leader in securing the Internet. Safe@Home protects all broadband-based Internet home and home office networks - including PCs and other non-PC Internet-enabled devices - from a single Safe@Home-enabled gateway. Portal's Infranet platform allows ISPs and MSOs to quickly implement new business models by enabling multiple value-added services, specialized pricing plans and promotions that can be adjusted immediately based on market or competitive demands.
