Industry Leaders Support Check Point's New Cyber Attack Defense System

Alteon, Anzen, Foundry, IBM, Tivoli , Intel, ISS, ODS, Veritas and WebTrends Announce Support

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., February 22, 2000 - Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that leading OPSEC Alliance partners have joined forces with Check Point to protect websites and corporate networks from cyber attacks. Check Point's Cyber Attack Defense System, coupled with leading OPSEC Alliance partner solutions, provides customers with a comprehensive security infrastructure that gives them an added layer of protection against cyber attacks.

Check Point Software's Cyber Attack Defense System, announced on February 14, includes several new modules and technologies, including the OPSEC Intrusion Response Protocol. This new protocol automatically alerts third-party devices such as Web server load balancing products or networking hardware to immediately block traffic from identified attackers.

  • Intrusion Detection Partners: Anzen Computing, Internet Security Systems (ISS) (NASDAQ:ISSX), and ODS Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:ODSI). Partners in this category integrate with Check Point's Suspicious Activity Monitoring Protocol (SAMP), providing customers with the ability to recognize cyber attacks in real-time; automatically disable intruders from access at Check Point gateways and send notifications to designated administrators.
  • High Availability/Performance Partners: Alteon WebSystems (NASDAQ:ATON), Foundry Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:FDRY), Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) and VERITAS Software Corp. (NASDAQ:VRTS). Partners in this category integrate with Check Point, to provide high-availability and next-generation acceleration, enabling customers to deploy the highest levels of security and performance required by eBusiness sites. Load-balancing switches and networking hardware in the future can also automatically disable cyber attackers from the network, by integrating with the new OPSEC Intrusion Response protocol.
  • Event Analysis and Reporting Partners: ISS, Tivoli Systems Inc. (NYSE:IBM) and WebTrends (NASDAQ:WEBT). Partners in this category integrate with Check Point's comprehensive logging capabilities, providing customers with the ability to receive automatic alerts and consolidated cyber attack reports across their enterprises.
